134 RECONCILIATION BETWEEN AESIR AND VANIR
Thankful for Odin's high-mindedness, the Vanir recalled him to Asgard, and gave him back his throne.
The peace was
sealed with
a triple agreement: the Vanir would hereafter disregard any of
Odin's acts not to their liking; if Gullveig were to be born again,
she would not be executed, but outlawed to the Ironwood; the slain in battle
would be divided between the Aesir and the Vanir evermore.
