077 THE SWAN MAIDENS AND VÖLUND'S BROTHERS LEAVE THE WOLF-DALES

At the beginning of their eighth year in the Wolf-Dales, the Swan Maidens grew sorrowful with longing for their home, reassumed their Swan-shapes and flew away.

Egil and Slagfin left Völund in order to seek them.
